Adding a Run as User
This procedure describes how to add a Run as user in Control-M. A Run as User is the account name that is used to log into the host. To runA Control-M process that adds your job to the Run Queue of the day, according to automatic or manual scheduling, and which enables the job to execute, depending on prerequisites jobs on a specific host, Control-M requires you to store the authentication settings of the account name in one of the following scenarios:
- Jobs running on Windows in Log in as user mode, as described in ctmwincfg.
- Jobs running on Linux in non-root mode, as described in set_agent_mode.
Begin

From the Configuration domain, click and then select Agents.

From the Advanced Tools drop-down list, select Run as User Management.
The Run as User Management pane appears.

From the Server drop-down list, select the Control-M/Server to create the Run as User.

The Add Run as User pane appears.
- Do the following:
- In the Run as User Name field, type the account name that is used to log into the host where the job runs.
From the Host Name drop-down list, select the related host where the Run as user has login access.
You can only select All or Remote Host if you have Configuration authorization set to Full, as described in Role Authorizations.
- In the Authentication Method field, do one of the following:
- If you are executing jobs on a host, in the Password field, type the Run as user password (account name password).
If you are executing jobs on a remote host, select Key Authentication (SSH only) and then select the Key Name and type the Passphrase.
To use this option, you must have Configuration authorization set to Full, as described in Role Authorizations.

Click Add.
The new Run as user appears in the Run as users table.
